Music That Quite Literally Saves Lives

Just recently I was hired by Music Saves Lives. They are a non-profit organization that teaches the importance of volunteering and giving back via the use of the music industry. What my role in this is, is to be the representative for the east coast. I will be setting up special events attached to concerts as incentive to give back. Youth these days aren't interested in boring lectures on how they can plant a community garden. They are out there at these shows wanting to meet their favorite band. So if we give them the opportunity to do that by having them volunteer, I'd say that is a win win.

  1. Ashley, I really enjoyed your blog this week! I think the non-profit organization you are working for is awesome! I work with a music venue that often holds benefit concerts and the turn out from the younger demographic is always a success. However, I feel that music has the ability to bring people together no matter a persons age. To quote John Denver, “Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same.”
    Thanks for sharing your blog!
